Sarasota Marathon is March 5
The Albritton Fruit Sarasota Marathon and Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, March 5. The Fitness Expo will be held on Saturday, March 4.
The marathon promises to be a flat, fast and a scenic race. The start and finish will be at the John and Mable Ringling Museum. The out and back course will run along some of Sarasota’s most popular sights — the Ringling Museum, the Bay Shore Neighborhood, Jungle Gardens, St. Armand’s Circle, Mote Marine Labratory and City Island, Lido Beach, Bayfront Park and Marina, Selby Gardens and Southside Village.
The Albritton Fruit Sarasota Marathon course is a USATF certified course and Boston Marathon Qualifier.
A medical and replenishment station will be located at the start and finish line. Spring water and replenished products will be provided at strategically placed points throughout the course. Aide stations will also be located strategically along the course.
All finishers of both the marathon and half marathon will receive a specially designed medal.
Awards will be presented for both the half marathon and marathon to the top finishers in the following age groups:
* Male/Female Overall
* Male/Female Master
* Male/Female Grand Master
Age group awards wil go six deep to M/F 19 and Under, M/F 20-24, M/F 25-29, M/F 30-34, M/F 35-39, M/F 40-44, M/F 45-49, M/F 50-54, M/F 55-59, M/F 60-64, M/F 65-69 and M/F 70 plus.
Registration is $80 for the marathon, $60 for the half marathon and $15 for the kids mini-marathon.
The Fitness Expo and packet picket will be from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the YMCA of Sarasota Frank G Berlin Sr. Branch, 1075 South Euclid Ave. Sarasota.
