How does the Treo hold up to jogging?

How does the Treo hold up to jogging?

Hi,

I was curious how well the Treo holds up to jogging or quick movements? I think there is an arm band holster that holds the treo on your arm (similar to an Ipod). Does the shaking / bouncing motion harm the treo? Are there any types of moving parts that could break from the shaking?

Thanks,

Rich

Longtime New Balance CEO steps down, outsider to run company

The global running shoe company with a Lawrence manufacturing plant that employs 668 people has hired Robert T. DeMartini, 45, of Swampscott, as its CEO.

DeMartini succeeds Jim Davis, who will stay on as chairman of the company, owned by the Davis family.

“After 35 years of managing the company, we feel that it is time to introduce younger and more progressive management,” said Davis, 62.

Davis’ wife, Anne Davis, will remain vice chairman, and the couple “will remain very involved in the company,” New Balance spokesman Amy Vreeland said.

Davis said DeMartini “brings broad experience, professional qualifications and most importantly, a clear understanding of New Balance’s unique culture. We are confident that he will direct the company in attaining our aggressive business goals while maintaining our corporate value system.”

Gearing up for the Half Marathon Derby

Welcome to the Training Zone, Bermuda’s latest feature for athletes. Every week we’ll be featuring one of the island’s top competitors, grilling them on everyting from their training habits to their footware in a bid to glean those pearls of wisdom that go into making them amongst Bermuda’s best.

We’ll also be featuring tips and advice from physios, nutrionists and coaches as well as weekly features like The Runner’s Playlist and starting next week Recipes for Success.

The page kicks off this week with Swan’s Running Club president and one of the island’s top road racers Otis Robinson.

What’s your training schedule?

Right now I’m toning it down for the last five weeks up to May 24. I’m down to about 70 miles a week. At the peak I was running 110. I started training just after race week in January.

I run mornings at Port Royal golf course. I vary it each day, sometimes a hilly course, sometimes flat. I also run in the evenings, either on the road or at the track.

At this stage I do a lot of training on the softer surfaces like the golf course and the track to avoid injury.

Wednesday evenings I train with Steve Burgess at the National Centre. We do anything from 16 reps of 400m with short breaks to five reps of 1600m.

I vary the kind of training I do - intervals, hill work, aerobic stuff - to keep it interesting.
