Hollenshead, 18, is a distance runner for James Buchanan High School’s cross country and track and field teams. The 2007 JB graduate is not just an average runner either. She set a new JB cross country course record and school record this year and found success in postseason races. Not bad for someone who didn’t pick up the sport until the summer before her freshman year.
“I’ve just always had the desire to run,” Hollenshead said. “I just really enjoy doing it. I guess I’m built for it and not everyone is.”
