The i-Run team says
Immerse yourself in the thrilling journey of Fran?ois d'Haene through his book, ?La vie courante?, published by Paulsen. Through his experiences, he shares invaluable advice for trail enthusiasts.
Summary:
A giant in ultra-trail running shares his passion. It originates from his childhood in a sporty family at the foot of the mountains.
At each stage of his life and races, Fran?ois D'Haene reflects on what has allowed him to maintain his love for running long distances and to reach the most prestigious podiums, from UTMB to the Diagonale des Fous, passing through Hardrock or Mount Fuji.
It's a plea for a balanced life where running never destroys the daily joys of family, loyal friendships, vineyard work, the pleasure of long spontaneous mountain outings, and ski mountaineering in winter.
A reflection enriched by nearly two decades of practice, where enthusiasts will find a wealth of advice to sustain their passion for endurance running.
?To endure such trials, you need to know deep within why you're embarking on them. In my case, it's not to win but to resonate with my whole being.?
Author's Presentation:
Born in 1985 in Lille, Fran?ois D'Haene quickly settled with his family in the Alps. His passion for trail running took root in his childhood.
Through increasingly sporty hikes with his friends from the Chamb?ry athletics club, he discovered his aptitude for endurance, shining in his first races.
Having ?finally? become a professional elite athlete, he has established one of the most impressive ultra-trail records over the past twenty years: 4 victories at UTMB, 4 at the Grand Raid of La R?union, records on the most beautiful trails on the planet...
In ?La vie courante,? a book matured over years, he recounts the challenge that inspires him more than all these victories: how he has always managed to reconcile this elite sport with his ?everyday? life as a father of three, formerly a winemaker, concerned about his carbon footprint, and who wouldn?t give up the pleasure of long mountain runs, summer or winter, for anything in the world.
