The membrane is microporous and functions by allowing sweat molecules to evaporate through the mesh of tiny pores in the membrane, less than one micron in diameter, which also serve as a barrier to rain droplets that could potentially soak the fabric.
By regulating the size of water droplets that can penetrate the material, the products keep the wearer warm and dry, while maintaining a comfortable and sweat-free temperature.
